The Virgin and Child

This engraving is a copy in the same direction of a print by Marcantonio Raimondi (RCIN 850942: probably after Raphael's drawings related to his paintings of the ‘Madonna di Foligno’ and ‘Madonna Sistina). Not described in Bartsch. Photographs of the paintings can be found at RCINs 850930 ('Madonna di Foligno') and 851062 ('Madonna Sistina'). Showing the Virgin sitting on clouds, supporting the standing Child who looks down to the right, with angels amongst the clouds.
