A print after a painting or a drawing which, according to the legend below the image, was then in the Arundel Collection and ascribed to Perino del Vaga. Lettered with production details and dedication. Another impression of this plate can be found at RCIN 801766.

The composition is based on the so-called Madonna della Rosa, a painting now in the Museo del Prado, Madrid (inv. no.302) generally attributed to Raphael and his workshop (c.1517-18).

Showing the seated Virgin supporting the Christ Child with both hands; on the right are St Joseph and the standing Infant Baptist holding a cross and presenting the Child with a scroll.
