c.1860Wet collodion negative | RCIN 2119164
7" x 9" glass plate negative of a stereoscopic photograph, possibly a daguerreotype, of Victoria, Duchess of Kent. Three-quarters length portrait, facing half to the left with one hand to her chest and the other resting on the back of a chair while holding a parasol.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. Although the original daguerreotype seems to be historically missing, a print from this negative exists in the Collection (RCIN 2513454).
