The new Balmoral Castle, Deeside
c. Sep 1854Glass plate negative | RCIN 2083976
Glass plate negative of the new Balmoral Castle viewed from high ground. The castle appears in the bottom right of the negative (bottom left when printed out), with the River Dee in the middle ground. In the background are rolling fields.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. Prints from this negative do not seem to exist in the Collection, however a variant from the same session is represented by RCIN 2140230.
