The Little Writing Room, Frogmore House

Glass plate negative of the table at the Little Writing Room, located upstairs in Frogmore House. A variety of objects are positioned on the table including various framed works, a clock and a vase. Various paintings can be seen on the walls.

The photograph was possibly taken shortly after the death of the Duchess of Kent (1786-1861), Queen Victoria's mother, who lived the latter years of her live at Frogmore House.

The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. Prints from this negative do not seem to exist in the Collection, however a variant from the same session is represented by RCIN 2101402.
