Glass plate negative of a full length portrait of the Jäger, John Macdonald (d. 1860) seated on a bench. He looks to the right at a treat he holds over the head of a Dachshund seated beside him. He rests his one arm on the back of the bench and places his other hand in his lap. His legs are crossed.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from this negative exists in the Collection, RCIN 2906748.
