Glass plate negative of a full length group portrait of, from left to right, Prince Alfred (1844-1900), the Duchess of Kent (1786-1861) and Princess Alice (1843-78). The Duchess is seated at the centre of the grouping, with her grandchildren standing either side of her. Princess Alice places her left hand on her grandmother's shoulder. Photograph taken in Buckingham Palace.

The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print of this negative exists in the Collection, RCIN 2513469.
