Glass plate negative of Queen Victoria's Bed Room, Osborne House. In front of the bed (RCIN 34159) is a chintz-covered chaise longue (RCIN 34180), and beside the fireplace a tapestry on a firescreen stand with a scene from Paolo and Francesca (RCIN 34182). The large painting above the fireplace is The Emtombment of Christ by Jager (RCIN 408978). The other two paintings are: The cousins, Queen Victoria and Victoire, Duchesse de Nemours (RCIN 404875), and L'Abondance by van Eycken (RCIN 408986). On the chest of the drawers in the corner is an Indian casket (RCIN 34205).
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. Prints from this negative do not seem to exist in the Collection, however a variant taken a few years later is represented by RCIN 2103670.
