Glass plate negative of eight cartes-de-visite portraits of Queen Victoria and the Countess of Caledon (1825-88), who served at the time as the queen's Lady of the Bedchamber. Queen Victoria is in side-profile, seated and gazing at picture of Prince Albert she is holding. The Countess stands to the queen's side.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. Prints from this negative do not seem to exist in the Collection.
