Queen Victoria (1819-1901) and Prince Albert, Prince Consort (1819-1861)

May 1860

RCIN 2082621

Glass plate negative of a full length double portrait of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. The queen stands and gazes downwards. She places one hand on the shoulder of Prince Albert, who is seated, holding a book in both hands. He looks upwards at the queen, his face is captured in profile.

The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. At least two prints from this negative exist in the Collection, RCIN 2914932 and 2914938.
