'Queen Victoria'
c. 1855RCIN 2083192
Glass plate negative of a watercolour portrait of Queen Victoria, created by Franz Xaver Winterhalter in 1855 (RCIN 913344). The queen is shown three-quarters in length, facing to the left and turning her hear to look at the viewer. She wears a dress with the ribbon and star of the Garter, and holding sheets of paper.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. Prints from this negative donot seem to exist in the Collection.
