Glass plate negative featuring a full-length double portrait of Princess Victoria, Duchess of Kent and Princess Alice. The duchess is seated on a chair, facing slightly to the left. Beside her stands Princess Alice who faces towards the duchess. The princess turns her head and looks to the camera. She holds her grandmother's hand and places the other hand on her grandmother's shoulder.

The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from this negative exists in the Collection, RCIN 2907748.
