Princess Helena
Aug 1855RCIN 2084860
Glass plate negative of a head-and-shoulder length portrait of Princess Helena (1844-1923) facing three-quarters to the right. She gazes downwards and raises her hand to her chin. She wears her hair loose and has a flower garland on her head. Photograph taken at Osborne.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. Prints from this negative do not seem to exist in the Collection, however a variant from the same sitting is represented by RCIN 2900059.
