Glass plate negative of a close up view of the effigy of Prince Albert (1819-61) by Baron Carlo Marochetti (RCIN 57169). The effigy depicts the prince, recumbent on his back and bare headed. He wears two collars and the Robes of the Garter.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from this negative exists in the Collection, RCIN 2418579.
