Glass plate negative of a close up view of the effigy of Prince Albert (1819-61) by Baron Carlo Marochetti (RCIN 57169). The effigy depicts the prince, recumbent on his back, bare headed with hands clasped over stomach. He wears two collars and the Robes of the Garter.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. Prints from this negative do not seem to exist in the Collection.
