Glass plate negative depicting two paintings placed on an easel for the purpose of photography. The paintings, both by Franz Xaver Winterhalter, are a portrait of Elizabeth, Marchioness of Douro (RCIN 404907), and a portrait of Frances, Viscountess Jocelyn (RCIN 404908).

The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. Prints from this negative do not seem to exist in the Collection.
