Albert and Victoria’s collection of glass plate negatives show photographers’ working methods

Glass plate negative featuring two full-length portraits of Miss Sphie Weiss standing on a terrace in the grounds of Osborne House. Miss Weiss became Dresser to Queen Victoria in January 1852.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from the left image exists in the Collection, RCIN 2910152.
