Glass plate negative of John Elder, the keeper of the Royal Kennels, with Bungo.
John Elder was employed at the Royal Kennels from 1852 to c. 1863. He died in 1891. Bungo died in May 1856.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from this negative (RCIN 2105066) can be found in an album belonging to Queen Victoria.
