1857RCIN 2083757
Glass plate negative of a full-length group portrait of two young children, Victoria and Arthur Cowley. The boy sits on a chair facing the camera and places his hand on the shoulder of his sister who sits on a stool beside him.
The siblings were probably children of Edward Cowley (1817-93), a Jäger (huntsman) employed by the Royal Household.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from this negative exist in the Collection, RCIN 2906675.
