19 Aug 1850Loose printed paper; mounted | 1 document (12 pages) (whole object) | RA VIC/ADDA10/85/20
The list, headed 'Vente de la Galerie de Sa Majesté Guillaume II', gives the relevant page numbers in the sale catalogue, the dates of the sales, 19-21 August [1850], with prices paid and names of buyers. It has pencil annotations indicating that certain drawings were later acquired by the Louvre, the British Museum, the Städel Institute in Frankfurt and the Grand Duke of Weimar, among other purchasers.
The list is undated, but was presumably printed soon after the sale in August 1850. The Grand Duke was presumably Karl Alexander, Grand Duke of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, 1818-1901.
Related Material: For related correspondence, see VIC/ADDA10/85/19.
