Letter from Sir Charles Eastlake to Dr. Ernst Becker enclosing a note listing drawings [by Raphael] in the sale of the Esdaile collection in 1840.

Eastlake states that he is enclosing an answer to the questions Becker has asked him. He adds that he hopes to obtain information about the Gray collection, although there is a difficulty about it.
He also names Mr Harzen of Hamburg as the purchaser of two of them. Mr Harzen' is probably Georg Ernst Harzen (1790-1863), Hamburg art dealer, collector and benefactor of the Hamburg Kunsthalle.
