LUDWIG GRÜNER (1801-82)

Letter from Ludwig Gruner to Charles Ruland regarding the Neher drawing, Herr ?Brogmann's departure for Rome, and the Raphael drawing from the Grahl collection.

26 Dec 1860

Loose manuscript paper; mounted | 1 document (4 pages) (whole object) | RA VIC/ADDA10/85/473

Gruner writes that he has had no news of the Neher drawing. He sends Ruland good wishes for the New Year. Herr ?Brogmann had already left for Rome when Ruland's letter arrived, but Gruner has forwarded the necessary information to him in Rome, where Brogmann will soon make friends as he is very clever and was Professor ?Hamel's best pupil. Gruner goes on to say that there will be no charge for the photograph of the drawing from the Grahl collection; it was a pleasure to do the Prince Consort a small favour.

See VIC/ADDA10/85/468 for earlier references by Gruner to Neher and to the drawing belonging to August Grahl.
