Letter from Lord John Russell to Prince Albert informing him that Lord Lyndhurst is in favour of a commission however upon further enquiry there are some doubts as to the suitability of Sir L. Shadwell. He proposes to bring the matter before Cabinet and also mentions that he has received private letters from Lord Normanby regarding the French.
