Loose manuscript paper | 1 document (4 pages) (whole object) | RA VIC/MAIN/F/21/47

Letter from Edward Driver to the Earl of Lincoln reporting on the state of the negotiations with Winchester College for purchase of their interest in the Barton Estate. He states that their solicitor has reported that the college believes the value should be £20,000, in exchange for Barton Farm, Barton Wood, the house and 14 acres. However Driver has estimated a value of £15,000 and advises that they offer £17,000. He also encloses a letter from Henry Sewell regarding rumours of intended alterations (see VIC/MAIN/F/21/46).
