A reversed facsimile etching of a drawing generally attributed to Gianfrancesco Penni (c.1516-18). Lettered with attribution of the design to Raphael and publication details. Published in C.M. Metz's Imitations of ancient and modern drawings, London 1798.

The drawing is a preparatory study for the fresco of the Expulsion from Paradise painted by the workshop of Raphael (c.1517-19) in the vault of the second bay of the Raphael Loggia in the Vatican. For more information about this drawing, see RCINs 853380 and 853381.
