A photograph of a drawing by Raphael (c.1510) now in the Albertina, Vienna (inv .no.189 v). The drawing is a first thought for the figure of the executioner in the 'Judgement of Solomon', one of the four rectangular frescoes painted on the vault of the Stanza della Segnatura in the Vatican, a photograph of which can be found at RCIN 852654. A very similar study for the executioner occurs in a drawing now in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford (inv. no.WA1846.196; a photograph at RCIN 852656).
