A facsimile of drawing attributed on plate to Raphael, when in the Praun collection in Nuremberg. Dated and lettered with engraver's name. Published in Johann Gottlieb Prestel, 'Dessins des meilleurs Peintres d'Italie, d'Allemagne, et des Pays-Bas, du Cabinet de Monsieur Paul de Praun à Nuremberg', 1780, plate 24. Another impression of this facsimile can be found at RCIN 853130.

The composition corresponds with Raphael's tapestry cartoon of 'The Death of Ananias', designed in c.1515-16 for one the Sistine Chapel tapestries commissioned by Pope Leo X (see RCIN 912947).
