There is a reference to Caldesi photographing drawings that the Duc d'Aumale acquired from the sale of Frédéric Reiset's collection in a letter from the printsellers and publishers Colnaghi to Carl Ruland, Prince Albert's librarian, dated 23 July 1861 (VIC/ADDA10/85/178).
