Published in Johann Gottlieb Prestel, 'Dessins des meilleurs Peintres d'Italie, d'Allemagne, et des Pays-Bas, du Cabinet de Monsieur Paul de Praun à Nuremberg', 1780, plate 21. Another impression can be found at RCIN 853178.
The composition corresponds with the right half of Raphael's tapestry cartoon of 'The Sacrifice at Lystra', designed in c.1515-16 for one the Sistine Chapel tapestries commissioned by Pope Leo X (see RCIN 912949).
