A photograph of a drawing now in the Devonshire Collection, Chatsworth (inv. no. 731A). This drawing depicts a statue of Constantine on the Capitol, Rome (seen from behind) and it features a depiction of the same statue seen from the front on the verso (see RCIN 854585 for a photograph of the verso). Annotated on the verso.
In the catalogue of the drawings in the Devonshire Collection (see Bibliographic References) it is noted that the technique of this drawing may suggest that it was made by a follower of Raphael, to whom the drawing was traditionally attributed. The statue, alongside other five sculptures, is now located on the balustrade at the top of the staircase that leads to Capitol Square, Rome.
