A seated girl in profile

c.1853-1876

Albumen print | 25.0 x 15.5 cm (sheet of paper) | RCIN 854437

A photograph of a drawing by Raphael (c. 1504-1505) now in the Uffizi, Florence (inv. no. 57E).

This drawing was previously attributed to Mino da Fiesole, Timoteo Viti and an anonymous Florentine artist; more recently it has been suggested Raphael as the draughtsman. Joannides (see Bibliographic References) catalogued it as by Raphael and noted similarities with portraits by Antonio del Pollaiolo and reliefs by Desiderio da Settignano.
