A facsimile of a drawing when in the collection of William II, Prince of Orange, now housed in the Petit Palais, Paris (inv. Dutuit 980). Attributed to G.F. Penni, the drawing is thought to reproduce a first (and now lost) design by Raphael for his 'Saint Cecilia', a painting now in the Pinacoteca Nazionale, Bologna (inv. no.577), and is believed to have served as modello for an engraving by Marcantonio Raimondi (RCIN 851474). This print was published in '‘Lawrence Gallery. A series of facsimiles of original drawings by Raffaelle da Urbino’, London 1841, no.21. A photograph of the drawing at RCIN 851476.
