Kneeling figure of a youth

published 1 May 1818

Crayon-manner | 33.0 x 24.2 cm (sheet of paper) | RCIN 851587

A print after a drawing by Raphael (c.1502-03) now in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. Ruland (1876) interpreted the figure as St Stephen. It is now generally thought that the drawing may be a study for a female figure (Mary Magdalene?). Lettered with title and production details. Published in W.Y.
