Raphael in his studio
c.1512-1520Engraving | 12.9 x 10.0 cm (sheet of paper) | RCIN 850073
An engraving by Marcantonio Raimondi depicting a portrait of Raphael in his studio. Trimmed within the platemark. Stamped with Sir Thomas Lawrence's collector's mark.
This engraving was traditionally catalogued as after a drawing by Raphael, but scholars recently suggested that it could be an invention by Marcantonio himself. Also the date is a matter of dispute. See Bibliographic References for more information.
