An outline-etching after the 'Portrait of Cardinal Antonio Ciocchi del Monte', a painting by Sebastiano del Piombo (c.1512-15) now in the National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin (inv. NGI.783). Lettered with production details, former attribution to Raphael and identity of the sitter. Published in 'Il Ritratto del Cardinale Antonio dal Monte; estratto dal 'Diario di Roma' n.31 dei 18 Aprile 1846'.
When this print was published, the painting was reputed to be by Raphael and housed in the collection of Leopoldo Fabri in Rome who (according to Passavant) bought it at the Cardinal Fesch sale of 1845.
