Portrait of Baldassare Castiglione

An etching after a portrait of Baldassare Castiglione when in the collection of Monsignor Luigi Valenti Gonzaga, Archibishop of Cesarea (1725-1808). When catalogued by Ruland (1876), the painting was in the Palazzo Torlonia in Rome. The painting is clearly derived from Raphael's portrait of Baldassare, which is currently housed in Musée du Louvre, Paris (inv. 611).
