    A print after the 'Portrait of Baldassare Castiglione', a painting by Raphael (1519) now in the Musée du Louvre, Paris (inv. 611); in reverse. With identity of sitter above image. Lettered with 8 lines in Italian, production details and dedication to the art dealer Alfonso Lopez, who owned the painting when this print was published.

    Alfonso Lopez acquired the painting at the 1639 Lucas van Uffelen sale in Amsterdam, in which occasion it was studied by Rembrandt (a photograph of his drawing after the portrait at RCIN 852072). Lopez later sold it to Cardinal Mazarin, Paris (1602-61), in whose collection is documented only in his post-mortem inventory of 1661.
