The painting is a 17th century copy of the figure of Agostino Beazzano, one of the two sitters in Raphael's Portrait of Andrea Navagero and Agostino Beazzano currently in the Galleria Pamphili, Rome (inv. FC 130).
A separate copy of the figure of Andrea Navagero also survives in the Prado. A photograph at RCIN 852078. A second set of photographs of both copies at RCINs 852076, 852077.
