A photograph of a painting by Sebastiano del Piombo (c.1512) now in the Galleria degli Uffizi, Florence (inv. 1890, n. 1443). Laid down on Arches watermarked paper annotated in pencil on both sides. Not listed in Ruland's Raphael Collection catalogue (1876). The painting has been formerly attributed to Giorgione and Raphael but scholars are now unanimous in seeing it as a work by Sebastiano del Piombo. The identity of the sitter, who has been previously identified as Margherita Luciani (known as La Fornarina), is still a matter of dispute. Another photograph of the painting at RCIN 852045.
