A photograph of a painting now in the Szépmüvészeti Múzeum, Budapest (inv. no.72). Although still debated, the painting is now generally attributed to Raphael and dated to his Umbrian period (c.1503). The identity of the sitter also remains unclear. Ruland (1876) interpreted it as a portrait of Francesco Maria della Rovere by Raphael. For further discussion, see Bibliographic References.
