A medal in honour of Raphael

An etching after the obverse and reverse of a medal struck in honour of Raphael that Ruland (1876) catalogued as then in the Casali Museum, Rome. By this he was probably referring to the collection put together by Marquis Casali in Villa Casali, now destroyed, on the Caelian Hill. This print is lettered with the location of the medal. Dated 1790. According to Ruland (1876) this print was published in "the Siena edition of Vasari, vol.V".
