The vault of the Sala delle Udienze del Collegio del Cambio

A photograph reproducing the vault of the Sala delle Udienze of the Collegio del Cambio in Perugia, frescoed by Pietro Perugino from c.1496.

The vault is divided by seven silver ribs into seven sectors with the one in the centre bigger than the others, occupying one fourth of the whole ceiling. In each of these sectors a round blue medallion with the allegory of a planet is painted, represented as a female or male figure on a chariot. Although not many names are known, Perugino was also assisted by some artists of his workshop (see Bibliographic References).
