A photograph of a drawing by Raphael (c.1506-1507) now in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford (inv. no. WA1846.180 verso). Annotated on the verso.
The figure of Adam was probably used by Marcantonio Raimondi for an engraving depicting Adam and Eve (see RCIN 850175 for it). The figure of the Child is inspired by Giovanni Bellini's 'Madonna with the sleeping Child' (Boston, Gardner Museum, inv. no. P16s2).
This drawing is on the verso of a sheet depicting a study for the Borghese Entombment, see RCIN 850262 for a photograph of the recto.
