    An engraving after a design traditionally reputed to be by Raphael, probably inspired by the Antique (see Massari in Raphael Invenit 1985, p.247, VI.1). Only state. It has been suggested that a reversed drawing attributed to Giovanni Francesco Penni in the collection of Leo Steinberg might have served as modello for the engraving (see Shoemaker/Broun 1981, no.38a). An anonymous sixteenth century copy of the print at RCIN 851805; a reversed copy by J. Hopfner at RCIN 851806.
