Life-studies of a Child

c.1853-76

Albumen print | RCIN 851909

A photograph of a drawing generally attributed to the School of Raphael (Giulio Romano/Penni?) currently in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford (inv. no. WA1846.213). It has been suggested that the drawing may be a study for the so-called 'Madonna dei Candelabri', a painting by Raphael and his assistants now in the Walters Art Gallery, Baltimore (inv. no.37.484).
  • Acquired for the Prince Consort's Raphael Collection (c.1853-76)
