A outline-etching after a painting then in the possession of Sig. Carlo Sanquirico, Milan. The painting is a copy of the so-called ‘Madonna de Passeggio’, a picture generally attributed to the workshop of Raphael possibly after a design by the master (c.1518-20), currently on loan to National Gallery of Scotland, Edinburgh (inv. no. NGL 064.46) from the Duke of Sutherland Collection. Lettered with production details. Published in F. Longhena, 'Istoria della vita e delle opere di Raffaello Sanzio', 1829. Showing the full-length Virgin holding the Christ Child with her left hand and putting her right on the head of the Infant John the Baptist, who approaches them on the left holding a cross staff, with St Joseph in the left middle-ground; in a landscape.
