An engraving reproducing in reverse the composition of a painting now in the Galleria Palatina, Palazzo Pitti, Florence (inv. Pal. no. 247). Signed by the printmaker with the phrase "Autore Incognito" in reference to the painter of this composition.
The authorship of the painting has been a matter of on-going debate. Formerly attributed to Raphael, it has been ascribed to Giulio Romano for much of the twentieth century and is now generally though that it may be the work of G.F. Penni (see Bibliographic References).
