An engraving reproducing in reverse the composition of a painting now in the Galleria Palatina, Palazzo Pitti, Florence (inv. Pal. no. 247). Lettered with production details and the attribution of the painting to Giulio Romano.
The authorship of the painting has been a matter of on-going debate. Formerly attributed to Raphael, it has been ascribed to Giulio Romano for much of the twentieth century and is now generally though that it may be the work of G.F. Penni (see Bibliographic References).
