c.1853-76

Albumen print | 12.5 x 19.8 cm (sheet of paper) | RCIN 850716

A photograph of a drawing formerly attributed to Raphael. Ruland (1876) described the drawing as being then in the collection of J. Malcolm, Esq. and connected it with Raphael's so-called ‘Madonna of the Meadow’ (1505 or 1506), a painting now in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna (inv. no.GG175). This drawing was not listed by Pouncey/Gere (1962) as being in the British Museum, London. See RCIN 850706 for a print reproducing the painting.
