A reversed engraving after the so-called ‘Madonna della Quercia’, a painting attributed to Raphael and his workshop (c.1518-19) now in the Museo del Prado, Madrid (inv. no.303) generally reputed to be after a design by the master. First state. Lettered on the base of the column at lower left with attribution of the design to Raphael: R. V. IN. For a second state impression of this print, see RCIN 850996.
